Ayah 1 Play Ayah
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا yaayyuhaO (mankind)ٱلنَّاسُ al-nasu(O) mankindٱتَّقُواْ ittaquFearرَبَّكُمۡۚ rabbakumyour Lordإِنَّ innaIndeedزَلۡزَلَةَ zalzalata(the) convulsionٱلسَّاعَةِ al-sa'ati(of) the Hourشَيۡءٌ shayon(is) a thingعَظِيمٞ azimungreatﰀ
TRANSLITERATION
yaayyuha al-nasu ittaqu rabbakum inna zalzalata al-sa'ati shayon azimun
English - Sahih International
O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing.
Ayah 2 Play Ayah
يَوۡمَ yawma(The) Dayتَرَوۡنَهَا tarawnahayou will see itتَذۡهَلُ tadhhaluwill forgetكُلُّ kullueveryمُرۡضِعَةٍ mur'di'atinnursing motherعَمَّآ ammathat whichأَرۡضَعَتۡ arda'atshe was nursingوَتَضَعُ watada'uand will deliverكُلُّ kullueveryذَاتِ dhatipregnant womanحَمۡلٍ hamlinpregnant womanحَمۡلَهَا hamlahaher loadوَتَرَى wataraand you will seeٱلنَّاسَ al-nasa[the] mankindسُكَٰرَىٰ sukaraintoxicatedوَمَا wamawhile notهُم humtheyبِسُكَٰرَىٰ bisukara(are) intoxicatedوَلَٰكِنَّ walakinnabutعَذَابَ adhaba(the) punishmentٱللَّهِ al-lahi(of) Allahشَدِيدٞ shadidun(will be) severeﰁ
TRANSLITERATION
yawma tarawnaha tadhhalu kullu mur'di'atin amma arda'at watada'u kullu dhati hamlin hamlaha watara al-nasa sukara wama hum bisukara walakinna adhaba al-lahi shadidun
English - Sahih International
On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe.
Ayah 3 Play Ayah
وَمِنَ waminaAnd amongٱلنَّاسِ al-nasithe mankindمَن man(is he) whoيُجَٰدِلُ yujadiludisputesفِي ficoncerningٱللَّهِ al-lahiAllahبِغَيۡرِ bighayriwithoutعِلۡمٖ il'minknowledgeوَيَتَّبِعُ wayattabi'uand followsكُلَّ kullaeveryشَيۡطَٰنٖ shaytanindevilمَّرِيدٖ maridinrebelliousﰂ
TRANSLITERATION
wamina al-nasi man yujadilu fi al-lahi bighayri il'min wayattabi'u kulla shaytanin maridin
English - Sahih International
And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge and follows every rebellious devil.
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
كُتِبَ kutibaIt has been decreedعَلَيۡهِ alayhifor himأَنَّهُۥ annahuthat heمَن manwhoتَوَلَّاهُ tawallahubefriends himفَأَنَّهُۥ fa-annahuthen indeed heيُضِلُّهُۥ yudilluhuwill misguide himوَيَهۡدِيهِ wayahdihiand will guide himإِلَىٰ ilatoعَذَابِ adhabi(the) punishmentٱلسَّعِيرِ al-sa'iri(of) the Blazeﰃ
TRANSLITERATION
kutiba alayhi annahu man tawallahu fa-annahu yudilluhu wayahdihi ila adhabi al-sa'iri
English - Sahih International
It has been decreed for every devil that whoever turns to him - he will misguide him and will lead him to the punishment of the Blaze.
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا yaayyuhaO mankindٱلنَّاسُ al-nasuO mankindإِن inIfكُنتُمۡ kuntumyou areفِي fiinرَيۡبٖ raybindoubtمِّنَ minaaboutٱلۡبَعۡثِ al-ba'thithe Resurrectionفَإِنَّا fa-innathen indeed, Weخَلَقۡنَٰكُم khalaqnakumWe created youمِّن minfromتُرَابٖ turabindustثُمَّ thummathenمِن minfromنُّطۡفَةٖ nut'fatina semen-dropثُمَّ thummathenمِنۡ minfromعَلَقَةٖ alaqatina clinging substanceثُمَّ thummathenمِن minfromمُّضۡغَةٖ mud'ghatinan embryonic lumpمُّخَلَّقَةٖ mukhallaqatinformedوَغَيۡرِ waghayriand unformedمُخَلَّقَةٖ mukhallaqatinand unformedلِّنُبَيِّنَ linubayyinathat We may make clearلَكُمۡۚ lakumto youوَنُقِرُّ wanuqirruAnd We cause to remainفِي fiinٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ al-arhamithe wombsمَا mawhatنَشَآءُ nashauWe willإِلَىٰٓ ilaforأَجَلٖ ajalina termمُّسَمّٗى musammanappointedثُمَّ thummathenنُخۡرِجُكُمۡ nukh'rijukumWe bring you outطِفۡلٗا tif'lan(as) a childثُمَّ thumma[then]لِتَبۡلُغُوٓاْ litablughuthat you may reachأَشُدَّكُمۡۖ ashuddakum[your] maturityوَمِنكُم waminkumAnd among youمَّن man(is he) whoيُتَوَفَّىٰ yutawaffadiesوَمِنكُم waminkumand among youمَّن man(is he) whoيُرَدُّ yuradduis returnedإِلَىٰٓ ilatoأَرۡذَلِ ardhalithe most abjectٱلۡعُمُرِ al-'umuriageلِكَيۡلَا likaylaso that notيَعۡلَمَ ya'lamahe knowsمِنۢ minafterبَعۡدِ ba'diafterعِلۡمٖ il'minhaving knownشَيۡـٔٗاۚ shayananythingوَتَرَى wataraAnd you seeٱلۡأَرۡضَ al-ardathe earthهَامِدَةٗ hamidatanbarrenفَإِذَآ fa-idhathen whenأَنزَلۡنَا anzalnaWe send downعَلَيۡهَا alayhaon itٱلۡمَآءَ al-maawaterٱهۡتَزَّتۡ ih'tazzatit gets stirredوَرَبَتۡ warabatand it swellsوَأَنۢبَتَتۡ wa-anbatatand growsمِن minofكُلِّ kullieveryزَوۡجِۭ zawjinkindبَهِيجٖ bahijinbeautifulﰄ
TRANSLITERATION
yaayyuha al-nasu in kuntum fi raybin mina al-ba'thi fa-inna khalaqnakum min turabin thumma min nut'fatin thumma min alaqatin thumma min mud'ghatin mukhallaqatin waghayri mukhallaqatin linubayyina lakum wanuqirru fi al-arhami ma nashau ila ajalin musamman thumma nukh'rijukum tif'lan thumma litablughu ashuddakum waminkum man yutawaffa waminkum man yuraddu ila ardhali al-'umuri likayla ya'lama min ba'di il'min shayan watara al-arda hamidatan fa-idha anzalna alayha al-maa ih'tazzat warabat wa-anbatat min kulli zawjin bahijin
English - Sahih International
O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.

Ayah 6 Play Ayah
ذَٰلِكَ dhalikaThatبِأَنَّ bi-anna(is) becauseٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahهُوَ huwaHeٱلۡحَقُّ al-haqu(is) the Truthوَأَنَّهُۥ wa-annahuAnd that Heيُحۡيِ yuh'yi[He] gives lifeٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ al-mawta(to) the deadوَأَنَّهُۥ wa-annahuand that Heعَلَىٰ ala(is) overكُلِّ kullieveryشَيۡءٖ shayinthingقَدِيرٞ qadirunAll-Powerfulﰅ
TRANSLITERATION
dhalika bi-anna al-laha huwa al-haqu wa-annahu yuh'yi al-mawta wa-annahu ala kulli shayin qadirun
English - Sahih International
That is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
وَأَنَّ wa-annaAnd thatٱلسَّاعَةَ al-sa'atathe Hourءَاتِيَةٞ atiyatunwill comeلَّا la(there is) noرَيۡبَ raybadoubtفِيهَا fihaabout itوَأَنَّ wa-annaand thatٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahيَبۡعَثُ yab'athuwill resurrectمَن man(those) whoفِي fi(are) inٱلۡقُبُورِ al-quburithe gravesﰆ
TRANSLITERATION
wa-anna al-sa'ata atiyatun la rayba fiha wa-anna al-laha yab'athu man fi al-quburi
English - Sahih International
And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves.
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
وَمِنَ waminaAnd amongٱلنَّاسِ al-nasimankindمَن man(is he) whoيُجَٰدِلُ yujadiludisputesفِي ficoncerningٱللَّهِ al-lahiAllahبِغَيۡرِ bighayriwithoutعِلۡمٖ il'minany knowledgeوَلَا walaand notهُدٗى hudanany guidanceوَلَا walaand notكِتَٰبٖ kitabina Bookمُّنِيرٖ munirinenlighteningﰇ
TRANSLITERATION
wamina al-nasi man yujadilu fi al-lahi bighayri il'min wala hudan wala kitabin munirin
English - Sahih International
And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him],
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
ثَانِيَ thaniyaTwistingعِطۡفِهِۦ it'fihihis neckلِيُضِلَّ liyudillato misleadعَن anfromسَبِيلِ sabili(the) wayٱللَّهِۖ al-lahi(of) Allahلَهُۥ lahuFor himفِي fiinٱلدُّنۡيَا al-dun'yathe worldخِزۡيٞۖ khiz'yun(is) disgraceوَنُذِيقُهُۥ wanudhiquhuand We will make him tasteيَوۡمَ yawma(on the) Dayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ al-qiyamati(of) Resurrectionعَذَابَ adhaba(the) punishmentٱلۡحَرِيقِ al-hariqi(of) the Burning Fireﰈ
TRANSLITERATION
thaniya it'fihi liyudilla an sabili al-lahi lahu fi al-dun'ya khiz'yun wanudhiquhu yawma al-qiyamati adhaba al-hariqi
English - Sahih International
Twisting his neck [in arrogance] to mislead [people] from the way of Allah. For him in the world is disgrace, and We will make him taste on the Day of Resurrection the punishment of the Burning Fire [while it is said],
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
ذَٰلِكَ dhalikaThatبِمَا bima(is) for whatقَدَّمَتۡ qaddamathave sent forthيَدَاكَ yadakayour handsوَأَنَّ wa-annaand thatٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahلَيۡسَ laysais notبِظَلَّـٰمٖ bizallaminunjustلِّلۡعَبِيدِ lil'abidito His slavesﰉ
TRANSLITERATION
dhalika bima qaddamat yadaka wa-anna al-laha laysa bizallamin lil'abidi
English - Sahih International
"That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants."
