Ayah 1 Play Ayah
إِذَا idhaWhenوَقَعَتِ waqa'atioccursٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ al-waqi'atuthe Eventﰀ
TRANSLITERATION
idha waqa'ati al-waqi'atu

When the Occurrence occurs,
Ayah 2 Play Ayah
لَيۡسَ laysaNotلِوَقۡعَتِهَا liwaq'atihaat its occurrenceكَاذِبَةٌ kadhibatuna denialﰁ
TRANSLITERATION
laysa liwaq'atiha kadhibatun
English - Sahih International
There is, at its occurrence, no denial.
Ayah 3 Play Ayah
خَافِضَةٞ khafidatunBringing downرَّافِعَةٌ rafi'atunraising upﰂ
TRANSLITERATION
khafidatun rafi'atun
English - Sahih International
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
إِذَا idhaWhenرُجَّتِ rujjatiwill be shakenٱلۡأَرۡضُ al-arduthe earthرَجّٗا rajjan(with) a shakingﰃ
TRANSLITERATION
idha rujjati al-ardu rajjan

When the earth is shaken with convulsion
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
وَبُسَّتِ wabussatiAnd will be crumbledٱلۡجِبَالُ al-jibaluthe mountainsبَسّٗا bassan(with awful) crumblingﰄ
TRANSLITERATION
wabussati al-jibalu bassan

And the mountains are broken down, crumbling
Ayah 6 Play Ayah
فَكَانَتۡ fakanatSo they becomeهَبَآءٗ habaandust particlesمُّنۢبَثّٗا munbathandispersingﰅ
TRANSLITERATION
fakanat habaan munbathan
English - Sahih International
And become dust dispersing.
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
وَكُنتُمۡ wakuntumAnd you will becomeأَزۡوَٰجٗا azwajankindsثَلَٰثَةٗ thalathatanthreeﰆ
TRANSLITERATION
wakuntum azwajan thalathatan
English - Sahih International
And you become [of] three kinds:
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
فَأَصۡحَٰبُ fa-ashabuThen (the) companionsٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ al-maymanati(of) the rightمَآ mawhatأَصۡحَٰبُ ashabu(are the) companionsٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ al-maymanati(of) the rightﰇ
TRANSLITERATION
fa-ashabu al-maymanati ma ashabu al-maymanati

Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ wa-ashabuAnd (the) companionsٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ al-mashamati(of) the leftمَآ mawhatأَصۡحَٰبُ ashabu(are the) companionsٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ al-mashamati(of) the leftﰈ
TRANSLITERATION
wa-ashabu al-mashamati ma ashabu al-mashamati

And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ wal-sabiqunaAnd the foremostٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ al-sabiquna(are) the foremostﰉ

wal-sabiquna al-sabiquna

And the forerunners, the forerunners -

Al Waaqia / الواقعة / The Inevitable
