Ayah 3 Play Ayah
كَذَٰلِكَ kadhalikaThusيُوحِيٓ yuhirevealsإِلَيۡكَ ilaykato youوَإِلَى wa-ilaand toٱلَّذِينَ alladhinathoseمِن minbefore youقَبۡلِكَ qablikabefore youٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllahٱلۡعَزِيزُ al-'azizuthe All-Mightyٱلۡحَكِيمُ al-hakimuthe All-Wiseﰂ
TRANSLITERATION
kadhalika yuhi ilayka wa-ila alladhina min qablika al-lahu al-'azizu al-hakimu
English - Sahih International
Thus has He revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and to those before you - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
لَهُۥ lahuTo Himمَا ma(belong) whateverفِي fi(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawatithe heavensوَمَا wamaand whateverفِي fi(is) inٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ al-ardithe earthوَهُوَ wahuwaand Heٱلۡعَلِيُّ al-'aliyu(is) the Most Highٱلۡعَظِيمُ al-'azimuthe Most Greatﰃ
TRANSLITERATION
lahu ma fi al-samawati wama fi al-ardi wahuwa al-'aliyu al-'azimu
English - Sahih International
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
تَكَادُ takaduAlmostٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ al-samawatuthe heavensيَتَفَطَّرۡنَ yatafattarnabreak upمِن minfromفَوۡقِهِنَّۚ fawqihinnaabove themوَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ wal-malaikatuand the Angelsيُسَبِّحُونَ yusabbihunaglorifyبِحَمۡدِ bihamdi(the) praiseرَبِّهِمۡ rabbihim(of) their Lordوَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ wayastaghfirunaand ask for forgivenessلِمَن limanfor thoseفِي fionٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ al-ardithe earthأَلَآ alaUnquestionablyإِنَّ innaindeedٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahهُوَ huwaHeٱلۡغَفُورُ al-ghafuru(is) the Oft-Forgivingٱلرَّحِيمُ al-rahimuthe Most Mercifulﰄ
TRANSLITERATION
takadu al-samawatu yatafattarna min fawqihinna wal-malaikatu yusabbihuna bihamdi rabbihim wayastaghfiruna liman fi al-ardi ala inna al-laha huwa al-ghafuru al-rahimu
English - Sahih International
The heavens almost break from above them, and the angels exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Unquestionably, it is Allah who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Ayah 6 Play Ayah
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhinaAnd those whoٱتَّخَذُواْ ittakhadhutakeمِن minbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓ dunihibesides Himأَوۡلِيَآءَ awliyaaprotectorsٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllahحَفِيظٌ hafizun(is) a Guardianعَلَيۡهِمۡ alayhimover themوَمَآ wamaand notأَنتَ antayouعَلَيۡهِم alayhim(are) over themبِوَكِيلٖ biwakilina managerﰅ
TRANSLITERATION
wa-alladhina ittakhadhu min dunihi awliyaa al-lahu hafizun alayhim wama anta alayhim biwakilin
English - Sahih International
And those who take as allies other than Him - Allah is [yet] Guardian over them; and you, [O Muhammad], are not over them a manager.
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
وَكَذَٰلِكَ wakadhalikaAnd thusأَوۡحَيۡنَآ awhaynaWe have revealedإِلَيۡكَ ilaykato youقُرۡءَانًا qur'anana Quranعَرَبِيّٗا arabiyyan(in) Arabicلِّتُنذِرَ litundhirathat you may warnأُمَّ umma(the) motherٱلۡقُرَىٰ al-qura(of) the townsوَمَنۡ wamanand whoeverحَوۡلَهَا hawlaha(is) around itوَتُنذِرَ watundhiraand warnيَوۡمَ yawma(of the) Dayٱلۡجَمۡعِ al-jam'i(of) Assemblyلَا la(there is) noرَيۡبَ raybadoubtفِيهِۚ fihiin itفَرِيقٞ fariqunA partyفِي fi(will be) inٱلۡجَنَّةِ al-janatiParadiseوَفَرِيقٞ wafariqunand a partyفِي fiinٱلسَّعِيرِ al-sa'irithe Blazing Fireﰆ
TRANSLITERATION
wakadhalika awhayna ilayka qur'anan arabiyyan litundhira umma al-qura waman hawlaha watundhira yawma al-jam'i la rayba fihi fariqun fi al-janati wafariqun fi al-sa'iri
English - Sahih International
And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur'an that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah] and those around it and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
وَلَوۡ walawAnd ifشَآءَ shaaAllah willedٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllah willedلَجَعَلَهُمۡ laja'alahumHe could have made themأُمَّةٗ ummatana communityوَٰحِدَةٗ wahidatanoneوَلَٰكِن walakinbutيُدۡخِلُ yud'khiluHe admitsمَن manwhomيَشَآءُ yashauHe willsفِي fiin (to)رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ rahmatihiHis Mercyوَٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ wal-zalimunaAnd the wrongdoersمَا manotلَهُم lahumfor themمِّن minanyوَلِيّٖ waliyyinprotectorوَلَا walaand notنَصِيرٍ nasirinany helperﰇ
TRANSLITERATION
walaw shaa al-lahu laja'alahum ummatan wahidatan walakin yud'khilu man yashau fi rahmatihi wal-zalimuna ma lahum min waliyyin wala nasirin
English - Sahih International
And if Allah willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper.
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
أَمِ amiOrٱتَّخَذُواْ ittakhadhuhave they takenمِن minbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓ dunihibesides Himأَوۡلِيَآءَۖ awliyaaprotectorsفَٱللَّهُ fal-lahuBut Allahهُوَ huwaHeٱلۡوَلِيُّ al-waliyu(is) the Protectorوَهُوَ wahuwaand Heيُحۡيِ yuh'yigives lifeٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ al-mawta(to) the deadوَهُوَ wahuwaAnd Heعَلَىٰ ala(is) onكُلِّ kullieveryشَيۡءٖ shayinthingقَدِيرٞ qadirunAll-Powerfulﰈ
TRANSLITERATION
ami ittakhadhu min dunihi awliyaa fal-lahu huwa al-waliyu wahuwa yuh'yi al-mawta wahuwa ala kulli shayin qadirun
English - Sahih International
Or have they taken protectors [or allies] besides him? But Allah - He is the Protector, and He gives life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
وَمَا wamaAnd whateverٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ ikh'talaftumyou differفِيهِ fihiin itمِن minofشَيۡءٖ shayina thingفَحُكۡمُهُۥٓ fahuk'muhuthen its rulingإِلَى ila(is) toٱللَّهِۚ al-lahiAllahذَٰلِكُمُ dhalikumuThatٱللَّهُ al-lahu(is) Allahرَبِّي rabbimy Lordعَلَيۡهِ alayhiupon Himتَوَكَّلۡتُ tawakkaltuI put my trustوَإِلَيۡهِ wa-ilayhiand to Himأُنِيبُ unibuI turnﰉ
TRANSLITERATION
wama ikh'talaftum fihi min shayin fahuk'muhu ila al-lahi dhalikumu al-lahu rabbi alayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi unibu
English - Sahih International
And in anything over which you disagree - its ruling is [to be referred] to Allah. [Say], "That is Allah, my Lord; upon Him I have relied, and to Him I turn back."
