Ayah 1 Play Ayah
تَنزِيلُ tanzilu(The) revelationٱلۡكِتَٰبِ al-kitabi(of) the Bookمِنَ mina(is) fromٱللَّهِ al-lahiAllahٱلۡعَزِيزِ al-'azizithe All-Mightyٱلۡحَكِيمِ al-hakimithe All-Wiseﰀ
TRANSLITERATION
tanzilu al-kitabi mina al-lahi al-'azizi al-hakimi
English - Sahih International
The revelation of the Qur'an is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Ayah 2 Play Ayah
إِنَّآ innaIndeed Weأَنزَلۡنَآ anzalna[We] have revealedإِلَيۡكَ ilaykato youٱلۡكِتَٰبَ al-kitabathe Bookبِٱلۡحَقِّ bil-haqiin truthفَٱعۡبُدِ fa-u'budiso worshipٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahمُخۡلِصٗا mukh'lisan(being) sincereلَّهُ lahuto Himٱلدِّينَ al-dina(in) the religionﰁ
TRANSLITERATION
inna anzalna ilayka al-kitaba bil-haqi fa-u'budi al-laha mukh'lisan lahu al-dina
English - Sahih International
Indeed, We have sent down to you the Book, [O Muhammad], in truth. So worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
Ayah 3 Play Ayah
أَلَا alaUnquestionablyلِلَّهِ lillahifor Allahٱلدِّينُ al-dinu(is) the religionٱلۡخَالِصُۚ al-khalisuthe pureوَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhinaAnd those whoٱتَّخَذُواْ ittakhadhutakeمِن minbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓ dunihibesides Himأَوۡلِيَآءَ awliyaaprotectorsمَا maNotنَعۡبُدُهُمۡ na'buduhumwe worship themإِلَّا illaexceptلِيُقَرِّبُونَآ liyuqarribunathat they may bring us nearإِلَى ilatoٱللَّهِ al-lahiAllahزُلۡفَىٰٓ zul'fa(in) positionإِنَّ innaIndeedٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahيَحۡكُمُ yahkumuwill judgeبَيۡنَهُمۡ baynahumbetween themفِي fiinمَا mawhatهُمۡ humtheyفِيهِ fihi[in it]يَخۡتَلِفُونَۗ yakhtalifunadifferإِنَّ innaIndeedٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahلَا la(does) notيَهۡدِي yahdiguideمَنۡ man(one) whoهُوَ huwa[he]كَٰذِبٞ kadhibun(is) a liarكَفَّارٞ kaffarunand a disbelieverﰂ
TRANSLITERATION
ala lillahi al-dinu al-khalisu wa-alladhina ittakhadhu min dunihi awliyaa ma na'buduhum illa liyuqarribuna ila al-lahi zul'fa inna al-laha yahkumu baynahum fi ma hum fihi yakhtalifuna inna al-laha la yahdi man huwa kadhibun kaffarun
English - Sahih International
Unquestionably, for Allah is the pure religion. And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position." Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever.
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
لَّوۡ lawIfأَرَادَ aradaAllah (had) intendedٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllah (had) intendedأَن antoيَتَّخِذَ yattakhidhatakeوَلَدٗا waladana sonلَّٱصۡطَفَىٰ la-is'tafasurely, He (could) have chosenمِمَّا mimmafrom whatيَخۡلُقُ yakhluquHe createsمَا mawhateverيَشَآءُۚ yashauHe willedسُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ sub'hanahuGlory be to Himهُوَ huwaHeٱللَّهُ al-lahu(is) Allahٱلۡوَٰحِدُ al-wahiduthe Oneٱلۡقَهَّارُ al-qaharuthe Irresistibleﰃ
TRANSLITERATION
law arada al-lahu an yattakhidha waladan la-is'tafa mimma yakhluqu ma yashau sub'hanahu huwa al-lahu al-wahidu al-qaharu
English - Sahih International
If Allah had intended to take a son, He could have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Exalted is He; He is Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
خَلَقَ khalaqaHe createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَ wal-ardaand the earthبِٱلۡحَقِّۖ bil-haqiin [the] truthيُكَوِّرُ yukawwiruHe wrapsٱلَّيۡلَ al-laylathe nightعَلَى alaoverٱلنَّهَارِ al-naharithe dayوَيُكَوِّرُ wayukawwiruand wrapsٱلنَّهَارَ al-naharathe dayعَلَى alaoverٱلَّيۡلِۖ al-laylithe nightوَسَخَّرَ wasakharaAnd He subjectedٱلشَّمۡسَ al-shamsathe sunوَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ wal-qamaraand the moonكُلّٞ kulluneachيَجۡرِي yajrirunningلِأَجَلٖ li-ajalinfor a termمُّسَمًّىۗ musammanspecifiedأَلَا alaUnquestionablyهُوَ huwaHeٱلۡعَزِيزُ al-'azizu(is) the All-Mightyٱلۡغَفَّـٰرُ al-ghafaruthe Oft-Forgivingﰄ
TRANSLITERATION
khalaqa al-samawati wal-arda bil-haqi yukawwiru al-layla ala al-nahari wayukawwiru al-nahara ala al-layli wasakhara al-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajri li-ajalin musamman ala huwa al-'azizu al-ghafaru
English - Sahih International
He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.

Ayah 6 Play Ayah
خَلَقَكُم khalaqakumHe created youمِّن minfromنَّفۡسٖ nafsina soulوَٰحِدَةٖ wahidatinsingleثُمَّ thummaThenجَعَلَ ja'alaHe madeمِنۡهَا min'hafrom itزَوۡجَهَا zawjahaits mateوَأَنزَلَ wa-anzalaAnd He sent downلَكُم lakumfor youمِّنَ minaofٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ al-an'amithe cattleثَمَٰنِيَةَ thamaniyataeightأَزۡوَٰجٖۚ azwajinkindsيَخۡلُقُكُمۡ yakhluqukumHe creates youفِي fiinبُطُونِ butuni(the) wombsأُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ ummahatikum(of) your mothersخَلۡقٗا khalqancreationمِّنۢ minafterبَعۡدِ ba'diafterخَلۡقٖ khalqincreationفِي fiinظُلُمَٰتٖ zulumatindarkness[es]ثَلَٰثٖۚ thalathinthreeذَٰلِكُمُ dhalikumuThatٱللَّهُ al-lahu(is) Allahرَبُّكُمۡ rabbukumyour Lordلَهُ lahufor Himٱلۡمُلۡكُۖ al-mul'ku(is) the dominionلَآ la(There is) noإِلَٰهَ ilahagodإِلَّا illaexceptهُوَۖ huwaHeفَأَنَّىٰ fa-annaThen howتُصۡرَفُونَ tus'rafunaare you turning awayﰅ
TRANSLITERATION
khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin thumma ja'ala min'ha zawjaha wa-anzala lakum mina al-an'ami thamaniyata azwajin yakhluqukum fi butuni ummahatikum khalqan min ba'di khalqin fi zulumatin thalathin dhalikumu al-lahu rabbukum lahu al-mul'ku la ilaha illa huwa fa-anna tus'rafuna
English - Sahih International
He created you from one soul. Then He made from it its mate, and He produced for you from the grazing livestock eight mates. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three darknesses. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs dominion. There is no deity except Him, so how are you averted?
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
إِن inIfتَكۡفُرُواْ takfuruyou disbelieveفَإِنَّ fa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahغَنِيٌّ ghaniyyun(is) free from needعَنكُمۡۖ ankumof youوَلَا walaAnd notيَرۡضَىٰ yardaHe likesلِعِبَادِهِ li'ibadihiin His slavesٱلۡكُفۡرَۖ al-kuf'raungratefulnessوَإِن wa-inAnd ifتَشۡكُرُواْ tashkuruyou are gratefulيَرۡضَهُ yardahuHe likes itلَكُمۡۗ lakumin youوَلَا walaAnd notتَزِرُ taziruwill bearوَازِرَةٞ waziratunbearer of burdensوِزۡرَ wiz'ra(the) burdenأُخۡرَىٰۚ ukh'ra(of) anotherثُمَّ thummaThenإِلَىٰ ilatoرَبِّكُم rabbikumyour Lordمَّرۡجِعُكُمۡ marji'ukum(is) your returnفَيُنَبِّئُكُم fayunabbi-ukumthen He will inform youبِمَا bimaabout whatكُنتُمۡ kuntumyou used (to)تَعۡمَلُونَۚ ta'malunadoإِنَّهُۥ innahuIndeed, Heعَلِيمُۢ alimun(is) the All-Knowerبِذَاتِ bidhatiof what (is) in the breastsٱلصُّدُورِ al-suduriof what (is) in the breastsﰆ
TRANSLITERATION
in takfuru fa-inna al-laha ghaniyyun ankum wala yarda li'ibadihi al-kuf'ra wa-in tashkuru yardahu lakum wala taziru waziratun wiz'ra ukh'ra thumma ila rabbikum marji'ukum fayunabbi-ukum bima kuntum ta'maluna innahu alimun bidhati al-suduri
English - Sahih International
If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is Free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you; and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you about what you used to do. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
۞وَإِذَا wa-idhaAnd whenمَسَّ massatouchesٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ al-insana[the] manضُرّٞ durrunadversityدَعَا da'ahe callsرَبَّهُۥ rabbahu(to) his Lordمُنِيبًا munibanturningإِلَيۡهِ ilayhito Himثُمَّ thummathenإِذَا idhawhenخَوَّلَهُۥ khawwalahuHe bestows on himنِعۡمَةٗ ni'matana favorمِّنۡهُ min'hufrom Himselfنَسِيَ nasiyahe forgetsمَا ma(for) whatكَانَ kanahe used to callيَدۡعُوٓاْ yad'uhe used to callإِلَيۡهِ ilayhi[to] Himمِن minbeforeقَبۡلُ qablubeforeوَجَعَلَ waja'alaand he sets upلِلَّهِ lillahito Allahأَندَادٗا andadanrivalsلِّيُضِلَّ liyudillato misleadعَن anfromسَبِيلِهِۦۚ sabilihiHis Pathقُلۡ qulSayتَمَتَّعۡ tamatta'Enjoyبِكُفۡرِكَ bikuf'rikain your disbeliefقَلِيلًا qalilan(for) a littleإِنَّكَ innakaIndeed, youمِنۡ min(are) ofأَصۡحَٰبِ ashabi(the) companionsٱلنَّارِ al-nari(of) the Fireﰇ
TRANSLITERATION
wa-idha massa al-insana durrun da'a rabbahu muniban ilayhi thumma idha khawwalahu ni'matan min'hu nasiya ma kana yad'u ilayhi min qablu waja'ala lillahi andadan liyudilla an sabilihi qul tamatta' bikuf'rika qalilan innaka min ashabi al-nari
English - Sahih International
And when adversity touches man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him [alone]; then when He bestows on him a favor from Himself, he forgets Him whom he called upon before, and he attributes to Allah equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy your disbelief for a little; indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire."
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
أَمَّنۡ ammanIs (one) whoهُوَ huwa[he]قَٰنِتٌ qanitun(is) devoutly obedientءَانَآءَ anaa(during) hoursٱلَّيۡلِ al-layli(of) the nightسَاجِدٗا sajidanprostratingوَقَآئِمٗا waqaimanand standingيَحۡذَرُ yahdharufearingٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ al-akhiratathe Hereafterوَيَرۡجُواْ wayarjuand hopingرَحۡمَةَ rahmata(for the) Mercyرَبِّهِۦۗ rabbihi(of) his Lordقُلۡ qulSayهَلۡ halAreيَسۡتَوِي yastawiequalٱلَّذِينَ alladhinathose whoيَعۡلَمُونَ ya'lamunaknowوَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhinaand those whoلَا la(do) notيَعۡلَمُونَۗ ya'lamunaknowإِنَّمَا innamaOnlyيَتَذَكَّرُ yatadhakkaruwill take heedأُوْلُواْ uluthose of understandingٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ al-albabithose of understandingﰈ
TRANSLITERATION
amman huwa qanitun anaa al-layli sajidan waqaiman yahdharu al-akhirata wayarju rahmata rabbihi qul hal yastawi alladhina ya'lamuna wa-alladhina la ya'lamuna innama yatadhakkaru ulu al-albabi
English - Sahih International
Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding.
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
قُلۡ qulSayيَٰعِبَادِ ya'ibadiO My slavesٱلَّذِينَ alladhina[those] whoءَامَنُواْ amanubelieve!ٱتَّقُواْ ittaquFearرَبَّكُمۡۚ rabbakumyour Lordلِلَّذِينَ lilladhinaFor those whoأَحۡسَنُواْ ahsanudo goodفِي fiinهَٰذِهِ hadhihithisٱلدُّنۡيَا al-dun'yaworldحَسَنَةٞۗ hasanatun(is) goodوَأَرۡضُ wa-arduand the earthٱللَّهِ al-lahi(of) Allahوَٰسِعَةٌۗ wasi'atun(is) spaciousإِنَّمَا innamaOnlyيُوَفَّى yuwaffawill be paid back in fullٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ al-sabirunathe patientأَجۡرَهُم ajrahumtheir rewardبِغَيۡرِ bighayriwithoutحِسَابٖ hisabinaccountﰉ
TRANSLITERATION
qul ya'ibadi alladhina amanu ittaqu rabbakum lilladhina ahsanu fi hadhihi al-dun'ya hasanatun wa-ardu al-lahi wasi'atun innama yuwaffa al-sabiruna ajrahum bighayri hisabin
English - Sahih International
Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account."
