Ayah 1 Play Ayah
يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ yasalunakaThey ask youعَنِ aniaboutٱلۡأَنفَالِۖ al-anfalithe spoils of warقُلِ quliSayٱلۡأَنفَالُ al-anfaluThe spoils of warلِلَّهِ lillahi(are) for Allahوَٱلرَّسُولِۖ wal-rasuliand the Messengerفَٱتَّقُواْ fa-ittaquSo fearٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahوَأَصۡلِحُواْ wa-aslihuand set rightذَاتَ dhatathatبَيۡنِكُمۡۖ baynikum(which is) between youوَأَطِيعُواْ wa-ati'uand obeyٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥٓ warasulahuand His Messengerإِن inifكُنتُم kuntumyou areمُّؤۡمِنِينَ mu'mininabelievers
TRANSLITERATION
yasalunaka ani al-anfali quli al-anfalu lillahi wal-rasuli fa-ittaqu al-laha wa-aslihu dhata baynikum wa-ati'u al-laha warasulahu in kuntum mu'minina
English - Sahih International
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the bounties [of war]. Say, "The [decision concerning] bounties is for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and amend that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you should be believers.
Ayah 2 Play Ayah
إِنَّمَا innamaOnlyٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ al-mu'minunathe believersٱلَّذِينَ alladhina(are) those whoإِذَا idhawhenذُكِرَ dhukirais mentionedٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllahوَجِلَتۡ wajilatfeel fearقُلُوبُهُمۡ qulubuhumtheir heartsوَإِذَا wa-idhaand whenتُلِيَتۡ tuliyatare recitedعَلَيۡهِمۡ alayhimto themءَايَٰتُهُۥ ayatuhuHis Versesزَادَتۡهُمۡ zadathumthey increase themإِيمَٰنٗا imanan(in) faithوَعَلَىٰ wa'alaand uponرَبِّهِمۡ rabbihimtheir Lordيَتَوَكَّلُونَ yatawakkalunathey put their trust
TRANSLITERATION
innama al-mu'minuna alladhina idha dhukira al-lahu wajilat qulubuhum wa-idha tuliyat alayhim ayatuhu zadathum imanan wa'ala rabbihim yatawakkaluna
English - Sahih International
The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely -
Ayah 3 Play Ayah
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhinaThose whoيُقِيمُونَ yuqimunaestablishٱلصَّلَوٰةَ al-salatathe prayerوَمِمَّا wamimmaand out of whatرَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ razaqnahumWe have provided themيُنفِقُونَ yunfiqunathey spend
TRANSLITERATION
alladhina yuqimuna al-salata wamimma razaqnahum yunfiquna
English - Sahih International
The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend.
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ulaikaThoseهُمُ humuthey areٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ al-mu'minunathe believersحَقّٗاۚ haqqan(in) truthلَّهُمۡ lahumFor themدَرَجَٰتٌ darajatun(are) ranksعِندَ indawithرَبِّهِمۡ rabbihimtheir Lordوَمَغۡفِرَةٞ wamaghfiratunand forgivenessوَرِزۡقٞ wariz'qunand a provisionكَرِيمٞ karimunnoble
TRANSLITERATION
ulaika humu al-mu'minuna haqqan lahum darajatun inda rabbihim wamaghfiratun wariz'qun karimun
English - Sahih International
Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees [of high position] with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision.
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
كَمَآ kamaAsأَخۡرَجَكَ akhrajakabrought you outرَبُّكَ rabbukayour Lordمِنۢ minfromبَيۡتِكَ baytikayour homeبِٱلۡحَقِّ bil-haqiin truthوَإِنَّ wa-innawhile indeedفَرِيقٗا fariqana partyمِّنَ minaamongٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ al-mu'mininathe believersلَكَٰرِهُونَ lakarihunacertainly disliked
TRANSLITERATION
kama akhrajaka rabbuka min baytika bil-haqi wa-inna fariqan mina al-mu'minina lakarihuna
English - Sahih International
[It is] just as when your Lord brought you out of your home [for the battle of Badr] in truth, while indeed, a party among the believers were unwilling,
Ayah 6 Play Ayah
يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ yujadilunakaThey dispute with youفِي ficoncerningٱلۡحَقِّ al-haqithe truthبَعۡدَمَا ba'da maafter whatتَبَيَّنَ tabayyanawas made clearكَأَنَّمَا ka-annamaas ifيُسَاقُونَ yusaqunathey were drivenإِلَى ilatoٱلۡمَوۡتِ al-mawti[the] deathوَهُمۡ wahumwhile theyيَنظُرُونَ yanzuruna(were) looking
TRANSLITERATION
yujadilunaka fi al-haqi ba'da ma tabayyana ka-annama yusaquna ila al-mawti wahum yanzuruna
English - Sahih International
Arguing with you concerning the truth after it had become clear, as if they were being driven toward death while they were looking on.
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
وَإِذۡ wa-idhAnd whenيَعِدُكُمُ ya'idukumupromised youٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllahإِحۡدَى ih'daoneٱلطَّآئِفَتَيۡنِ al-taifatayni(of) the two groupsأَنَّهَا annahathat it (would be)لَكُمۡ lakumfor youوَتَوَدُّونَ watawaddunaand you wishedأَنَّ annathatغَيۡرَ ghayra(one) other thanذَاتِ dhatithatٱلشَّوۡكَةِ al-shawkati(of) the armedتَكُونُ takunuwould beلَكُمۡ lakumfor youوَيُرِيدُ wayuriduBut intendedٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllahأَن antoيُحِقَّ yuhiqqajustifyٱلۡحَقَّ al-haqathe truthبِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ bikalimatihiby His wordsوَيَقۡطَعَ wayaqta'aand cut offدَابِرَ dabira(the) rootsٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ al-kafirina(of) the disbelievers
TRANSLITERATION
wa-idh ya'idukumu al-lahu ih'da al-taifatayni annaha lakum watawadduna anna ghayra dhati al-shawkati takunu lakum wayuridu al-lahu an yuhiqqa al-haqa bikalimatihi wayaqta'a dabira al-kafirina
English - Sahih International
[Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
لِيُحِقَّ liyuhiqqaThat He might justifyٱلۡحَقَّ al-haqathe truthوَيُبۡطِلَ wayub'tilaand prove falseٱلۡبَٰطِلَ al-batilathe falsehoodوَلَوۡ walaweven ifكَرِهَ karihadisliked (it)ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ al-muj'rimunathe criminals
TRANSLITERATION
liyuhiqqa al-haqa wayub'tila al-batila walaw kariha al-muj'rimuna
English - Sahih International
That He should establish the truth and abolish falsehood, even if the criminals disliked it.

Ayah 9 Play Ayah
إِذۡ idhWhenتَسۡتَغِيثُونَ tastaghithunayou were seeking helpرَبَّكُمۡ rabbakum(of) your Lordفَٱسۡتَجَابَ fa-is'tajabaand He answeredلَكُمۡ lakum[to] youأَنِّي anniIndeed I amمُمِدُّكُم mumiddukumgoing to reinforce youبِأَلۡفٖ bi-alfinwith a thousandمِّنَ minaofٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ al-malaikatithe Angelsمُرۡدِفِينَ mur'difinaone after another
TRANSLITERATION
idh tastaghithuna rabbakum fa-is'tajaba lakum anni mumiddukum bi-alfin mina al-malaikati mur'difina
English - Sahih International
[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, "Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another."
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
وَمَا wamaAnd notجَعَلَهُ ja'alahu(it was) madeٱللَّهُ al-lahu(by) Allahإِلَّا illabutبُشۡرَىٰ bush'ragood tidingsوَلِتَطۡمَئِنَّ walitatma-innaand so that might be at restبِهِۦ bihiwith itقُلُوبُكُمۡۚ qulubukumyour heartsوَمَا wamaAnd (there is) noٱلنَّصۡرُ al-nasru[the] victoryإِلَّا illaexceptمِنۡ minfromعِندِ indi[of]ٱللَّهِۚ al-lahiAllahإِنَّ innaIndeedٱللَّهَ al-lahaAllahعَزِيزٌ azizun(is) All-Mightyحَكِيمٌ hakimunAll-Wise
TRANSLITERATION
wama ja'alahu al-lahu illa bush'ra walitatma-inna bihi qulubukum wama al-nasru illa min indi al-lahi inna al-laha azizun hakimun
English - Sahih International
And Allah made it not but good tidings and so that your hearts would be assured thereby. And victory is not but from Allah. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
