The Byzantines have been defeated
Ayah 3 Play Ayah
فِيٓ fiInأَدۡنَى adna(the) nearestٱلۡأَرۡضِ al-ardilandوَهُم wahumBut theyمِّنۢ minafterبَعۡدِ ba'diafterغَلَبِهِمۡ ghalabihimtheir defeatسَيَغۡلِبُونَ sayaghlibunawill overcomeﰂ
TRANSLITERATION
fi adna al-ardi wahum min ba'di ghalabihim sayaghlibuna
English - Sahih International
In the nearest land. But they, after their defeat, will overcome.
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
فِي fiWithinبِضۡعِ bid'ia fewسِنِينَۗ sininayearsلِلَّهِ lillahiFor Allahٱلۡأَمۡرُ al-amru(is) the commandمِن minbeforeقَبۡلُ qablubeforeوَمِنۢ waminand afterبَعۡدُۚ ba'duand afterوَيَوۡمَئِذٖ wayawma-idhinAnd that dayيَفۡرَحُ yafrahuwill rejoiceٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ al-mu'minunathe believersﰃ
TRANSLITERATION
fi bid'i sinina lillahi al-amru min qablu wamin ba'du wayawma-idhin yafrahu al-mu'minuna
English - Sahih International
Within three to nine years. To Allah belongs the command before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
بِنَصۡرِ binasriWith (the) helpٱللَّهِۚ al-lahi(of) Allahيَنصُرُ yansuruHe helpsمَن manwhomيَشَآءُۖ yashauHe willsوَهُوَ wahuwaAnd Heٱلۡعَزِيزُ al-'azizu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُ al-rahimuthe Most Mercifulﰄ
TRANSLITERATION
binasri al-lahi yansuru man yashau wahuwa al-'azizu al-rahimu
English - Sahih International
In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

Ayah 6 Play Ayah
وَعۡدَ wa'da(It is the) Promiseٱللَّهِۖ al-lahi(of) Allahلَا la(Does) notيُخۡلِفُ yukh'lifufailٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllahوَعۡدَهُۥ wa'dahu(in) His promiseوَلَٰكِنَّ walakinnabutأَكۡثَرَ aktharamost (of)ٱلنَّاسِ al-nasi[the] peopleلَا la(do) notيَعۡلَمُونَ ya'lamunaknowﰅ
TRANSLITERATION
wa'da al-lahi la yukh'lifu al-lahu wa'dahu walakinna akthara al-nasi la ya'lamuna
English - Sahih International
[It is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know.
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
يَعۡلَمُونَ ya'lamunaThey knowظَٰهِرٗا zahiran(the) apparentمِّنَ minaofٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ al-hayatithe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَا al-dun'ya(of) the worldوَهُمۡ wahumbut theyعَنِ aniaboutٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ al-akhiratithe Hereafterهُمۡ hum[they]غَٰفِلُونَ ghafiluna(are) heedlessﰆ
TRANSLITERATION
ya'lamuna zahiran mina al-hayati al-dun'ya wahum ani al-akhirati hum ghafiluna
English - Sahih International
They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware.
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
أَوَلَمۡ awalamDo notيَتَفَكَّرُواْ yatafakkaruthey ponderفِيٓ fiwithinأَنفُسِهِمۗ anfusihimthemselvesمَّا maNotخَلَقَ khalaqaAllah (has) createdٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllah (has) createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَ wal-ardaand the earthوَمَا wamaand whatبَيۡنَهُمَآ baynahuma(is) between themإِلَّا illaexceptبِٱلۡحَقِّ bil-haqiin truthوَأَجَلٖ wa-ajalinand (for) a termمُّسَمّٗىۗ musammanappointedوَإِنَّ wa-innaAnd indeedكَثِيرٗا kathiranmanyمِّنَ minaofٱلنَّاسِ al-nasithe peopleبِلِقَآيِٕ biliqaiin (the) meetingرَبِّهِمۡ rabbihim(with) their Lordلَكَٰفِرُونَ lakafirunasurely (are) disbelieversﰇ
TRANSLITERATION
awalam yatafakkaru fi anfusihim ma khalaqa al-lahu al-samawati wal-arda wama baynahuma illa bil-haqi wa-ajalin musamman wa-inna kathiran mina al-nasi biliqai rabbihim lakafiruna
English - Sahih International
Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
أَوَلَمۡ awalamHave notيَسِيرُواْ yasiruthey traveledفِي fiinٱلۡأَرۡضِ al-ardithe earthفَيَنظُرُواْ fayanzuruand observedكَيۡفَ kayfahowكَانَ kanawasعَٰقِبَةُ aqibatu(the) endٱلَّذِينَ alladhina(of) thoseمِن minbefore themقَبۡلِهِمۡۚ qablihimbefore themكَانُوٓاْ kanuThey wereأَشَدَّ ashaddamightierمِنۡهُمۡ min'humto themقُوَّةٗ quwwatan(in) strengthوَأَثَارُواْ wa-atharuand they dugٱلۡأَرۡضَ al-ardathe earthوَعَمَرُوهَآ wa'amaruhaand built (on) itأَكۡثَرَ aktharamoreمِمَّا mimmathan whatعَمَرُوهَا amaruhathey have built (on) itوَجَآءَتۡهُمۡ wajaathumAnd came (to) themرُسُلُهُم rusuluhumtheir Messengersبِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِۖ bil-bayinatiwith clear proofsفَمَا famaSo notكَانَ kanawasٱللَّهُ al-lahuAllahلِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡ liyazlimahumto wrong themوَلَٰكِن walakinbutكَانُوٓاْ kanuthey wereأَنفُسَهُمۡ anfusahumthemselvesيَظۡلِمُونَ yazlimuna(doing) wrongﰈ
TRANSLITERATION
awalam yasiru fi al-ardi fayanzuru kayfa kana aqibatu alladhina min qablihim kanu ashadda min'hum quwwatan wa-atharu al-arda wa'amaruha akthara mimma amaruha wajaathum rusuluhum bil-bayinati fama kana al-lahu liyazlimahum walakin kanu anfusahum yazlimuna
English - Sahih International
Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed the earth and built it up more than they have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allah would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
ثُمَّ thummaThenكَانَ kanawasعَٰقِبَةَ aqibata(the) endٱلَّذِينَ alladhina(of) those whoأَسَـٰٓـُٔواْ asaudid evilٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓ al-suathe evilأَن anbecauseكَذَّبُواْ kadhabuthey deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِ biayati(the) Signsٱللَّهِ al-lahi(of) Allahوَكَانُواْ wakanuand wereبِهَا bihaof themيَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ yastahziunamaking mockeryﰉ
TRANSLITERATION
thumma kana aqibata alladhina asau al-sua an kadhabu biayati al-lahi wakanu biha yastahziuna
English - Sahih International
Then the end of those who did evil was the worst [consequence] because they denied the signs of Allah and used to ridicule them.
