Ayah 1 Play Ayah
وَٱلشَّمۡسِ wal-shamsiBy the sunوَضُحَىٰهَا waduhahaand its brightnessﰀ
TRANSLITERATION
wal-shamsi waduhaha
English - Sahih International
By the sun and its brightness
Ayah 2 Play Ayah
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ wal-qamariAnd the moonإِذَا idhawhenتَلَىٰهَا talahait follows itﰁ
TRANSLITERATION
wal-qamari idha talaha
English - Sahih International
And [by] the moon when it follows it
Ayah 3 Play Ayah
وَٱلنَّهَارِ wal-nahariAnd the dayإِذَا idhawhenجَلَّىٰهَا jallahait displays itﰂ
TRANSLITERATION
wal-nahari idha jallaha
English - Sahih International
And [by] the day when it displays it
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
وَٱلَّيۡلِ wa-al-layliAnd the nightإِذَا idhawhenيَغۡشَىٰهَا yaghshahait covers itﰃ
TRANSLITERATION
wa-al-layli idha yaghshaha
English - Sahih International
And [by] the night when it covers it
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ wal-samaiAnd the heavenوَمَا wamaand He Whoبَنَىٰهَا banahaconstructed itﰄ
TRANSLITERATION
wal-samai wama banaha
English - Sahih International
And [by] the sky and He who constructed it
Ayah 6 Play Ayah
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ wal-ardiAnd the earthوَمَا wamaand He Whoطَحَىٰهَا tahahaspread itﰅ
TRANSLITERATION
wal-ardi wama tahaha
English - Sahih International
And [by] the earth and He who spread it
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
وَنَفۡسٖ wanafsinAnd (the) soulوَمَا wamaand He Whoسَوَّىٰهَا sawwahaproportioned itﰆ
TRANSLITERATION
wanafsin wama sawwaha
English - Sahih International
And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
فَأَلۡهَمَهَا fa-alhamahaAnd He inspired itفُجُورَهَا fujuraha(to understand) what is wrong for itوَتَقۡوَىٰهَا wataqwahaand what is right for itﰇ
TRANSLITERATION
fa-alhamaha fujuraha wataqwaha
English - Sahih International
And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
قَدۡ qadIndeedأَفۡلَحَ aflahahe succeedsمَن manwhoزَكَّىٰهَا zakkahapurifies itﰈ
TRANSLITERATION
qad aflaha man zakkaha
English - Sahih International
He has succeeded who purifies it,
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
وَقَدۡ waqadAnd indeedخَابَ khabahe failsمَن manwhoدَسَّىٰهَا dassahacorrupts itﰉ
TRANSLITERATION
waqad khaba man dassaha
English - Sahih International
And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].
