Ayah 1 Play Ayah
تَبَارَكَ tabarakaBlessed is Heٱلَّذِي alladhiWhoنَزَّلَ nazzalasent downٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ al-fur'qanathe Criterionعَلَىٰ alauponعَبۡدِهِۦ abdihiHis slaveلِيَكُونَ liyakunathat he may beلِلۡعَٰلَمِينَ lil'alaminato the worldsنَذِيرًا nadhirana warner
TRANSLITERATION
tabaraka alladhi nazzala al-fur'qana ala abdihi liyakuna lil'alamina nadhiran
English - Sahih International
Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner -
Ayah 2 Play Ayah
ٱلَّذِي alladhiThe One Whoلَهُۥ lahuto Him (belongs)مُلۡكُ mul'ku(the) dominionٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati(of) the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِ wal-ardiand the earthوَلَمۡ walamand notيَتَّخِذۡ yattakhidhHe has takenوَلَدٗا waladana sonوَلَمۡ walamand notيَكُن yakunHe hasلَّهُۥ lahufor Himشَرِيكٞ sharikuna partnerفِي fiinٱلۡمُلۡكِ al-mul'kithe dominionوَخَلَقَ wakhalaqaand He (has) createdكُلَّ kullaeveryشَيۡءٖ shayinthingفَقَدَّرَهُۥ faqaddarahuand determined itتَقۡدِيرٗا taqdiran(with) determination
TRANSLITERATION
alladhi lahu mul'ku al-samawati wal-ardi walam yattakhidh waladan walam yakun lahu sharikun fi al-mul'ki wakhalaqa kulla shayin faqaddarahu taqdiran
English - Sahih International
He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination.

Ayah 3 Play Ayah
وَٱتَّخَذُواْ wa-ittakhadhuYet they have takenمِن minbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓ dunihibesides Himءَالِهَةٗ alihatangodsلَّا lanotيَخۡلُقُونَ yakhluqunathey createشَيۡـٔٗا shayananythingوَهُمۡ wahumwhile theyيُخۡلَقُونَ yukh'laqunaare createdوَلَا walaand notيَمۡلِكُونَ yamlikunathey possessلِأَنفُسِهِمۡ li-anfusihimfor themselvesضَرّٗا darranany harmوَلَا walaand notنَفۡعٗا naf 'anany benefitوَلَا walaand notيَمۡلِكُونَ yamlikunathey controlمَوۡتٗا mawtandeathوَلَا walaand notحَيَوٰةٗ hayatanlifeوَلَا walaand notنُشُورٗا nushuranresurrection
TRANSLITERATION
wa-ittakhadhu min dunihi alihatan la yakhluquna shayan wahum yukh'laquna wala yamlikuna li-anfusihim darran wala naf 'an wala yamlikuna mawtan wala hayatan wala nushuran
English - Sahih International
But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
وَقَالَ waqalaAnd sayٱلَّذِينَ alladhinathose whoكَفَرُوٓاْ kafarudisbelieveإِنۡ inNotهَٰذَآ hadhathisإِلَّآ illa(is) butإِفۡكٌ if'kuna lieٱفۡتَرَىٰهُ if'tarahuhe invented itوَأَعَانَهُۥ wa-a'anahuand helped himعَلَيۡهِ alayhiat itقَوۡمٌ qawmunpeopleءَاخَرُونَۖ akharunaotherفَقَدۡ faqadBut verilyجَآءُو jauthey (have) producedظُلۡمٗا zul'manan injusticeوَزُورٗا wazuranand a lie
TRANSLITERATION
waqala alladhina kafaru in hadha illa if'kun if'tarahu wa-a'anahu alayhi qawmun akharuna faqad jau zul'man wazuran
English - Sahih International
And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur'an] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie.
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
وَقَالُوٓاْ waqaluAnd they sayأَسَٰطِيرُ asatiruTalesٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ al-awalina(of) the former peopleٱكۡتَتَبَهَا ik'tatabahawhich he has had writtenفَهِيَ fahiyaand theyتُمۡلَىٰ tum'laare dictatedعَلَيۡهِ alayhito himبُكۡرَةٗ buk'ratanmorningوَأَصِيلٗا wa-asilanand evening
TRANSLITERATION
waqalu asatiru al-awalina ik'tatabaha fahiya tum'la alayhi buk'ratan wa-asilan
English - Sahih International
And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."
Ayah 6 Play Ayah
قُلۡ qulSayأَنزَلَهُ anzalahuHas sent it downٱلَّذِي alladhithe One Whoيَعۡلَمُ ya'lamuknowsٱلسِّرَّ al-sirathe secretفِي fiinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ wal-ardiand the earthإِنَّهُۥ innahuIndeed Heكَانَ kanaisغَفُورٗا ghafuranOft-Forgivingرَّحِيمٗا rahimanMost Merciful
TRANSLITERATION
qul anzalahu alladhi ya'lamu al-sira fi al-samawati wal-ardi innahu kana ghafuran rahiman
English - Sahih International
Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful."
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
وَقَالُواْ waqaluAnd they sayمَالِ maliWhy doesهَٰذَا hadhathisٱلرَّسُولِ al-rasuliMessengerيَأۡكُلُ yakulueatٱلطَّعَامَ al-ta'ama[the] foodوَيَمۡشِي wayamshiand walkفِي fiinٱلۡأَسۡوَاقِ al-aswaqithe marketsلَوۡلَآ lawlaWhy notأُنزِلَ unzilais sent downإِلَيۡهِ ilayhito himمَلَكٞ malakunan Angelفَيَكُونَ fayakunathen he beمَعَهُۥ ma'ahuwith himنَذِيرًا nadhirana warner
TRANSLITERATION
waqalu mali hadha al-rasuli yakulu al-ta'ama wayamshi fi al-aswaqi lawla unzila ilayhi malakun fayakuna ma'ahu nadhiran
English - Sahih International
And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner?
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
أَوۡ awOrيُلۡقَىٰٓ yul'qais deliveredإِلَيۡهِ ilayhito himكَنزٌ kanzuna treasureأَوۡ aworتَكُونُ takunuisلَهُۥ lahufor himجَنَّةٞ jannatuna gardenيَأۡكُلُ yakuluhe may eatمِنۡهَاۚ min'hafrom itوَقَالَ waqalaAnd sayٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ al-zalimunathe wrongdoersإِن inNotتَتَّبِعُونَ tattabi'unayou followإِلَّا illabutرَجُلٗا rajulana manمَّسۡحُورًا mashuranbewitched
TRANSLITERATION
aw yul'qa ilayhi kanzun aw takunu lahu jannatun yakulu min'ha waqala al-zalimuna in tattabi'una illa rajulan mashuran
English - Sahih International
Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic."
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
ٱنظُرۡ unzurSeeكَيۡفَ kayfahowضَرَبُواْ darabuthey set forthلَكَ lakafor youٱلۡأَمۡثَٰلَ al-amthalathe similitudesفَضَلُّواْ fadallubut they have gone astrayفَلَا falaso notيَسۡتَطِيعُونَ yastati'unathey are able (to find)سَبِيلٗا sabilana way
TRANSLITERATION
unzur kayfa darabu laka al-amthala fadallu fala yastati'una sabilan
English - Sahih International
Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
تَبَارَكَ tabarakaBlessed is Heٱلَّذِيٓ alladhiWhoإِن inifشَآءَ shaaHe willedجَعَلَ ja'ala(could have) madeلَكَ lakafor youخَيۡرٗا khayranbetterمِّن minthanذَٰلِكَ dhalikathatجَنَّـٰتٖ jannatingardensتَجۡرِي tajriflowمِن minfromتَحۡتِهَا tahtihaunderneath itٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ al-anharuthe riversوَيَجۡعَل wayaj'aland He (could) makeلَّكَ lakafor youقُصُورَۢا qusuranpalaces
TRANSLITERATION
tabaraka alladhi in shaa ja'ala laka khayran min dhalika jannatin tajri min tahtiha al-anharu wayaj'al laka qusuran
English - Sahih International
Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces.
