Ayah 2 Play Ayah
وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ wal-qur'aniBy the Quranٱلۡحَكِيمِ al-hakimithe Wiseﰁ
TRANSLITERATION
wal-qur'ani al-hakimi
English - Sahih International
By the wise Qur'an.
Ayah 3 Play Ayah
إِنَّكَ innakaIndeed youلَمِنَ lamina(are) amongٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ al-mur'salinathe Messengersﰂ
TRANSLITERATION
innaka lamina al-mur'salina
English - Sahih International
Indeed you, [O Muhammad], are from among the messengers,
Ayah 4 Play Ayah
عَلَىٰ alaOnصِرَٰطٖ siratina Pathمُّسۡتَقِيمٖ mus'taqiminstraightﰃ
TRANSLITERATION
ala siratin mus'taqimin

On a straight path.
Ayah 5 Play Ayah
تَنزِيلَ tanzilaA revelationٱلۡعَزِيزِ al-'azizi(of) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمِ al-rahimithe Most Mercifulﰄ
TRANSLITERATION
tanzila al-'azizi al-rahimi
English - Sahih International
[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
Ayah 6 Play Ayah
لِتُنذِرَ litundhiraThat you may warnقَوۡمٗا qawmana peopleمَّآ manotأُنذِرَ undhirawere warnedءَابَآؤُهُمۡ abauhumtheir forefathersفَهُمۡ fahumso theyغَٰفِلُونَ ghafiluna(are) heedlessﰅ
TRANSLITERATION
litundhira qawman ma undhira abauhum fahum ghafiluna
English - Sahih International
That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware.
Ayah 7 Play Ayah
لَقَدۡ laqadCertainlyحَقَّ haqqa(has) proved trueٱلۡقَوۡلُ al-qawluthe wordعَلَىٰٓ alauponأَكۡثَرِهِمۡ aktharihimmost of themفَهُمۡ fahumso theyلَا la(do) notيُؤۡمِنُونَ yu'minunabelieveﰆ
TRANSLITERATION
laqad haqqa al-qawlu ala aktharihim fahum la yu'minuna
English - Sahih International
Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe.
Ayah 8 Play Ayah
إِنَّا innaIndeedجَعَلۡنَا ja'alna[We] have placedفِيٓ fionأَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ a'naqihimtheir necksأَغۡلَٰلٗا aghlalaniron collarsفَهِيَ fahiyaand theyإِلَى ila(are up) toٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ al-adhqanithe chinsفَهُم fahumso theyمُّقۡمَحُونَ muq'mahuna(are with) heads aloftﰇ
TRANSLITERATION
inna ja'alna fi a'naqihim aghlalan fahiya ila al-adhqani fahum muq'mahuna
English - Sahih International
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.
Ayah 9 Play Ayah
وَجَعَلۡنَا waja'alnaAnd We have madeمِنۢ minbefore themبَيۡنِ baynibefore themأَيۡدِيهِمۡ aydihimbefore themسَدّٗا saddana barrierوَمِنۡ waminand behind themخَلۡفِهِمۡ khalfihimand behind themسَدّٗا saddana barrierفَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡ fa-aghshaynahumand We covered themفَهُمۡ fahumso theyلَا la(do) notيُبۡصِرُونَ yub'sirunaseeﰈ
TRANSLITERATION
waja'alna min bayni aydihim saddan wamin khalfihim saddan fa-aghshaynahum fahum la yub'siruna
English - Sahih International
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see.
Ayah 10 Play Ayah
وَسَوَآءٌ wasawaonAnd it (is) sameعَلَيۡهِمۡ alayhimto themءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ a-andhartahumwhether you warn themأَمۡ amorلَمۡ lam(do) notتُنذِرۡهُمۡ tundhir'humwarn themلَا lanotيُؤۡمِنُونَ yu'minunathey will believeﰉ
TRANSLITERATION
wasawaon alayhim a-andhartahum am lam tundhir'hum la yu'minuna
English - Sahih International
And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.
